sprinkles! (anniversary + giveaway)

I'm giddy for a few reasons: I just enjoyed cadbury's roasted almond milk chocolate with a mug of vanilla soy, I don't have classes on Mondays, and it's my blogging anniversary! :)))))))))))!!

I really don't like rainbow sprinkles, so I was glad to use an old container I found in our cupboard to help with today's post.

I blogged my very first post on this very day last year. Only, I was blogging at my old blog, which is no longer publicly available online. I'm grateful that when I started this new blog some weeks ago, many of my old readers followed me.

Do you know what's embarrassing? Reading something you wrote when you were younger. Here's my first post ever:

"I've considered the possibility of this blog all summer. And, now, as the crisp autumn days overtake New York, I'm ready to chronicle my weight loss journey. I'm a storyteller (a "natural" one, I've been told) so I'm comfortable with jotting my thoughts down, but not when it comes to my weight! My weight is a flaw, yes, a flaw, that I'm getting better at embracing, because you can't change until you realize that their is something worth changing. I call this blog "my wicked, wicked ways"--after a book of poetry by Sandra Cisneros, my favorite writer-- because I have to change my wicked ways, which I will specify later, to change my weight, to change my life."

I don't think I'm any longer at a point where I'd tell myself that my being overweight is a flaw. And I should be charged for comma abuse in that first post!

Do y'all like sprinkles?
 They're fun for crafts!

I knew I really wanted to host a giveaway because I'm so grateful for all the friendships I've made here. But I knew I wanted to give something I could offer to everyone, not the sort of giveaway where  I'd randomly pick one winner. So thank you cards came to mind.
These are handmade sunflowers ones I bought during a farm trip some weeks ago. They're the first batch I'm sending off to a handful of bloggers who've supported me from the very beginning.

If I had 50 more followers, I probably wouldn't be able to do this: but if you'd like me to send you a letter/card to thank you, to encourage you along your health journey, please comment on this post. I know it's kind of weird, but I'd really love to send you one! And if it makes you more comfortable, we can agree to exchange letters.

Thanks, everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving.
Love.

You awesome blossom!
Congrats on one year!
Can I be a pen pal, too - even though I am probably one of the worst ones in the known Universe? :)
