my fitness pal

Hello. (AGAIN.)

So...my OA meeting went wonderfully. I'll share more later, just gimme some time to go through the welcome packet I got at the meeting.

For now I wanna share some more about the food + fitness app I mentioned earlier today.

It's called my fitness pal and it's actually a website, too, if you're interested. But I'm just using and loving the app. My girlfriend, Julieta, told me about it. (Her hand isn't on my boob, I promise...BUT my eyes are indeed closed because I was tired from too much sugar that day)


Well, actually she mentioned it while she was busily doing something on her iTouch (Using the app!!!) and I wasn't listen because I was probably...thinking about a Honduran boy and/or these cuties.

Anyways, so eventually Julieta told me about it five more times and eventually she sent me the invite for the app and Ta-dah, I'll telling y'all all about it.

I love it because:

- I can keep track of what I eat
- I can track how many glasses of water I drink <----love this one especially!!
- Keep track of what I burn with exercise, walking, house chores, etc.  I can browse a long list to pick how I burned the calories (different types of exercise, etc.)  and insert the amount of time. OR if the option isn't available, I can insert it manually.
- Keep track of what I weigh and track my loss with a helpful graph system
- Kiss kittays<---Kiddin'  HA!
-I also love that I was able to plug in what I weigh and the app gave me a caloric cap--1590 calories--to lose up to a healthy two pounds a week. So when I use to app daily I plug in what I eat at every meal and it deducts that from the 1590 calories I am suppose to meet. I love that.
- The last thing I love about my fitness pal is that I can keep in touch with my pals on the app. Well, actually, I can keep up with my one pal, Julieta. (if you use the app, please add me so I have more than one friend? my screen name is Dimple Snatcher:))) On my home page, I get a brief of what she's up (calories burned with exercise, weight lost, etc.) It's a great way to support a friend...or friends. Unfortunately this feature can only be used when I have WIFI access.

So there you have it...I'm almost certain that apps can only be downloaded if you have an apple product :((iPod, iPhone, etc.) But if you already have an account or do get one, please lemme know. And if you have some other online/via some kind of gadget tracking method please share? Am nosy.

I used it and it was fine, but I wasn't a big fan of counting calories, since I had no idea what a portion was really.

I use SparkPeople -- both the regular website and the iPad app. So far so good at least :) I've heard good things about My Fitness Pal too -- enjoy!
