what emerson + heather says.

[sipping my chocolate milk...]

Folks, I can't believe I've never had chocolate soymilk before. I would share, but it's all gone...

Like my mug? It's my favorite!

99 cent store, bb!

This morning has been...deary. It's an overcast kind of day, was snowing for awhile, I ate pita chips and hummus for brekkie, yadda yadda...

The weather definitely has an effect on my mood. Which in turn affects how I eat. This morning I wasn't in the mood to count calories, prepare a nutritious breakfast....sighhhhh.

Days like today are torture for healthy living since I usually function based on how I feel.

Based on past behavior, today would have been perfect for Chinese food takeout, but fortunately I'm happy to say I have somewhat of a handle on how I'm eating.

And you know what? I have the rest of today. I'm going to make a big salad to take to work with me. And then it's the gym. [did you see my winter exercise schedule I posted yes-ter-day? exciting!]

Recently Jenn--whose blog I love--posted this quote on her blog:
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Doesn't that give you assurance? I love it.

Or as Heather--whose blog I also love--writes, "make one heather decision, now make another."

It's really as simple as that.

Be back later today. And do I really have readers in Jamaica, Germany, Barbados, Austria, Italy, Korea, Poland, etc.? Or is blogger stats playing games with me? Because that would be amazing.

Oh, and cornmeal porridge recipe probably isn't coming today...hopefully tomorrow. I'm hoping to have step by step photos for y'all.

I love, love, love that first quote. I will be stealing it. Well, stealing then citing it.

I know how you feel, too. Yesterday was the worst day ever and I overate a little. "legal" stuff, but more than I needed nonetheless. It's progress, I suppose. Normally I'd have been facedown in some Cap'n Crunch. And not with soy milk either!

Great quote...and your feelings are shared by me today as well.
It's cold out---and it was hard to want to make good choices. I can say I'm still working on it :)
Oh, and choc soy milk is pretty darn good!

Hey, you have a reader in Botswana too --- I love that Emerson quote as well, it would be great to read at the beginning and end of each day.
