eating stories this year.

With all the thoughts of weight-loss some of us--like me--have, it's easy to forget that eating and food should be meaningful or we wouldn't have the kind of stories we'd like to retell to ourselves.

For instance, like how the first boy you loved introduced you to falafel sandwiches so that they will always remind you of him probably forever.

Or eating tamarind and how they transport you to Jamaican childhood--the sour kind so sour that they use to strip the white stuff off your tongue.

Celebrations--because what would they be without a slice of cake, a cupcake, something--anything-- really really good?

Or the time when you and your girlfriends went to the beach and remembered to eat everything but the...salad.

Or conversations over good food.

Even growing your own mint and tomatoes.

It's been good this year, especially the mangoes.

Dear reader, please share an eating story from this year with me? I'd love to hear it.

Now, back to my steaming rice and my finished vegetable coconut curry (it's so so good and inspired from here). Excuse me, I'm off to enjoy dinner. Hope you enjoy yours!

P.S. Oh, and my survey please?

Welp, I tried to grow some of my own lettuce out back and when it finally sprouted, I pulled up a weed next to it (thinking it was lettuce) an tarted to chew. Not good. Then husband ended up weed-wacking the whole lettuce patch without even telling me. :/
